Hyperfibre’s installation experience

Overview

We have been working hard to get Hyperfibre’s installation experience as painless as possible.

Last year you told us that the experience to get Hyperfibre installed wasn’t up to scratch. We have been working hard since to reduce the lead-time and improve the ordering process to make sure your customers have an installation process that matches the quality of their new Hyperfibre connection. 

This page exists to summarise the various initiatives that have been delivered or are soon to come.

Timeline and approach

The scaling Hyperfibre initiative kicked off with a discovery piece of work completed in October 2022. Since then, a number of milestones have been reached, detailed in the timeline below.

  • System changes identified

Internal Reporting developed
  • Reporting developed to give us a clearer picture of aged WIP and reduce orders going overdue 

December 2022

Daily Robot implemented
  • Moved from checking feasibility for Hyperfibre orders once a week to every day to ensure orders that do not require build move straight through 

February 2023

Linecard upgrades and Dedicated Technicians begin

Automated Feasibility for Intacts

December 2023

Broadband Checker updated
  • Broadband Checker will give more accurate timeframes of estimated leadtime for Hyperfibre 

May 2024

Automated Feasibility for Installs
  • All orders will now go straight to the field when the linecard has already been upgraded
