Product renaming

In 2021 we successfully boosted a significant portion of our services to stay ahead of the growing demand for faster internet speeds. The implementation approach used minimised the impact on Service Provider systems but now means those plan names no longer reflect the speeds they provide. 

We’re confirming our intention to create a new naming convention to make it easy to identify what the service is and what speeds customers can expect. The convention will be <Product/Segment> <Technology> <Speed>

<Product/Segment> identifies whether it is targeted at the Home, Small Business or Business, 

<Technology> identifies the key technology supporting the product; and 

<Speed> is the downstream Low Traffic Class bandwidth, as this is the most significant speed to End Customers.

An example would be the residential 300/100 service; using the proposed naming convention it would be called ‘Home Fibre 300’.

We also plan to rename the core Chorus bitstream offers using this new naming convention
