We recently consulted with you on our proposal to align the pricing structure of long distance Intra Candidate Area Backhaul (ICABS) to match that of Chorus Exchange Connect (CXC) dark.  

We have not received any feedback as part of this consultation, which we believe reflects the low impact of these changes. Based on this, we have decided to proceed with our proposed changes as outlined. 

Notice of changes 

We are now providing official notice of the following changes: 

The ICABS C step is being aligned to that of CXC dark and pricing for circuits with distances above 40km is calculated by adding additional steps using the same stepped pricing from 40km.

1. 2x monthly rental; nil if associated with an access install (e.g. DFAS) 
2. Jumper charges may be included when connected to other service

Below are some worked examples of what this will look like: 

• Howick to Kumeu is 35km radial distance, C step recurring pricing will apply. Install is 2 x C step, or nil if associated with an access install (e.g. DFAS). 
• Manurewa to Hibiscus Coast is 44.8km radial distance, C + A step recurring pricing will apply. Install is 2 x (C + A) step, or nil if associated with an access install (e.g. DFAS). 
• Hibiscus Coast to Runciman is 55.5km radial distance, C + B step pricing will apply. Install is 2 x (C + B) step, or nil if associated with an access install (e.g. DFAS). 

We are amending the Service Description to reflect the stepped pricing calculation for links over 40km, and will publish that updated Service Description before the effective date. The changes outlined above will take effect on 25 January 2024.
