On 6 May 2024, we are launching the 2Gig and 4Gig variants of HPA, along with the 2Gig and 4Gig TES (Tail Extension Service) for these.

This expands the HPA product portfolio of high-performance plans, following the launch of 1Gig HPA in August last year. It was positively received by the industry with service providers jumping at the chance to get customers connected with an incredibly fast, high-traffic service.

HPA is built on the Hyperfibre network, but differs from Hyperfibre with capabilities that make this an enterprise-grade high-performance service, such as High Traffic Class bandwidth, VLAN Transparency and large MTU support. It is ideal for data hungry use-cases such as medium to large enterprise connections or providing backhaul to wireless sites. HPA is also a great upgrade path for customers currently connected with HSNS premium, which is being withdrawn this year.

HPA introduced two new ONTs to our network, the Single Port XGS ONT (or SPO 110 for those that work with ONTs regularly) and a new XGS SFP ONT (or SFP 110).

HPA is only available on these two ONTs as they are the only ONTs on our network that can manage some of the high-spec features, like supporting jumbo frames (9100 MTU).
