Last month we confirmed the SME business fibre enhancements delivery timings, with a launch date of 5 May 2025.

The technical information for one of these enhancements, CIR upgrades for Small Business Fibre and Small Business Hyperfibre, is available here.

For the increase in CIR, while these changes do not require immediate changes by RSPs, for the consumers to get the full benefit of the increased CIR levels, you may need to make minor network configuration changes. We therefore recommend you test your own scenarios.

We have a range of test facilities available, including CCIL and production testing. On request we will work with you to provide suitable test facilities that fit your business needs.

All existing customers on the affected plans will be migrated to the upgraded CIR from 28 April 2025 to 3 May 2025.

For clarity, these changes will be upgrades to the existing plans, including the associated TES allowance; you will not need to build new plans or withdraw any of your existing offers to benefit from these upgrades. These speed increases only apply to High Traffic Class.

Making these necessary changes to your business fibre offerings, will position you well to take full advantage of the new plan and features for the SME market in New Zealand.
