Managed Provisioning Service (MPS) price and name change notice
The current Managed Provisioning Service (MPS) is a value-add, Chorus project management service wrap. Its aim is to ensure that customer projects are successfully completed - on time and meeting specifications.
The service shines when employed across substantial projects of work, such as upgrading 20 company branches to fibre, or connecting 100 ATMs belonging to a bank. Smaller projects also see value from the service, as do individual orders for enterprise products, such as Business Premium, Mobile Access or CCS jobs.
What’s happening?
At the beginning of June, we sent out a consultation request seeking feedback on our proposal to introduce a new MPS pricing structure, as part of our redesign of the service. We are appreciative of the submissions we received as part of this consultation process.
We have taken the time to carefully assess all feedback and found that it was largely supportive of our proposed changes. We confirm that we are proceeding with the MPS pricing changes as originally outlined.
We are also changing the name of the service (Managed Provisioning Service) to Fibre Project Management (FPM), based on feedback we have received to indicate that there is confusion caused by the current name not being representative.
Notice of changes and timings:
- We are providing notice that the Managed Provisioning Service (MPS) is being renamed to Fibre Project Management (FPM) to better represent the nature of the service. The updated service will be referred to as FPM for the purposes of this notice. The name change will take effect on 3 October 2022.
- We are providing notice of the following changes to FPM (formerly MPS) pricing structure, effective 3 October 2022:
Existing MPS product features:
- MPS today has two levels of service: “Basic Order Co-ordination (BOC)” and “Managed Provisioning Service (MPS)”
- BOC is extremely basic and almost never gets ordered as a result.
- The typical MPS charge is $330 per order, made up of the Base Fee + Prequal & Order Entry
- Additional service ‘clip-ons’ are priced separately and added to the MPS service charge.
New FPM (formerly MPS) product features (effective 3 October 2022):
- Only one level of service (FPM); BOC, is retired.
- The FPM charge is now per site (TLC), not per order (e.g., a single charge for multiple orders at the same location)
- Locations are classed as either ‘Simple’ ($240) or ‘Complex’ ($420) to reflect the expected amount of management required. This classification is done upfront based on location data.
- A per site breakdown of the simple/complex classification will be provided as part of the Statement of Work (SOW).
- The clip-ons of the current MPS service are now included in the new service at no additional cost (e.g. no additional charge for Order Entry)
Below are some example scenarios to illustrate what the proposed pricing might look like:
Next steps
Existing (in-flight) projects will remain unchanged, the new pricing structure will only apply to project requests that are submitted from 3 October 2022 onward.
We are also busy revamping the FPM collateral and documentation, along with creating a new home for the service on our Service Providers website. We will provide more details about this before the changes take effect on 3 October 2022.
