Managed Provisioning Service (MPS) price change consultation

The Managed Provisioning Service (MPS) is a value-add, Chorus project management service wrap. Its aim is to ensure that customer projects are successfully completed - on time and meeting specifications.  

The service shines when employed across substantial projects of work, such as upgrading 20 company branches to fibre, or connecting 100 ATMs belonging to a bank. Smaller projects also see value from the service, as do individual orders for enterprise products, such as Business Premium, Mobile Access or CCS jobs. 

 

What’s happening? 

We are reviewing the MPS product to ensure it meets your business requirements and continues to add value. As part of this process, we are looking at how MPS is constructed and packaged, including price, the name of the service and how it’s displayed on our website. 

Previous industry consultation on MPS revealed pricing as the largest area of feedback. The existing flat-fee per-order price structure was seen as too rigid and sometimes prohibitive for smaller, simpler projects.   

 

What are the details? 

We would like to get your feedback on a new proposed pricing structure for MPS, which we believe will deliver more equitable charging and a simpler product construct, while retaining upfront cost certainty.

MPS

Existing MPS product notes: 

  • MPS today has two levels of service: “Basic Order Co-ordination (BOC)” and “Managed Provisioning Service (MPS)” 
  • BOC is extremely basic and almost never gets ordered as a result. 
  • The typical MPS charge is $330 per order, made up of the Base Fee + Prequal & Order Entry 
  • Additional service ‘clip-ons’ are defined. 

Proposed MPS product notes: 

  • Only one level of service (MPS) moving forward; The MPS charge is now per site, not per order (e.g. a single charge for multiple orders at the same location) 
  • Locations are classed as either ‘Simple’ ($240) or ‘Complex’ ($420) to reflect the expected amount of management required. This classification is done upfront based on the type of property we are connecting to.  
  • Clip-ons are removed and included in the cost of the service (e.g. no additional charge for Order Entry)

Consultation is open from today until 15 June 2022. We’re keen to hear your feedback particularly on the proposed MPS pricing structure.  

Following consultation, we will collate and process the feedback internally before providing you a summary of the feedback and next steps by end of June.
