In May, we invited feedback on what the future Hyperfibre Business product might look like. We have reviewed and considered the feedback received and are now confirming the action we will take.   

 

What’s happening? 

We are pleased to announce significant changes to Hyperfibre Business:   

 

Price changes 

From 1 December 2021, we are dropping the price on each Hyperfibre Business plan with 100Mb High Traffic Class (HTC) included - as follows:

 

Savings are significant – up to $180 per month. Plus, with the existing Business Advantage offer, you can benefit from credits up to $800 per Hyperfibre Business connection. 

This change is a great opportunity to grow your ARPU & revenue – you’ll get key connectivity features including 100Mb HTC and VLAN transparency for not much more than the equivalent Hyperfibre Small Business plan.

No price changes apply to Hyperfibre Business plans with 10Mb, 20Mb & 50Mb HTC options. 

 

Grandfathering notice 

Upon implementation of the above price points, Hyperfibre Business plans with 50Mb or less HTC will have a higher price than those with 100Mb HTC. The new price points are also lower than the majority of Hyperfibre Education plans. As a result, we will commence grandfathering the following Hyperfibre Business and Hyperfibre Education plans: 

 

We know several RSP’s have plans to simplify their plans/portfolios and we believe this change will help achieve this goal.
Please consider this announcement as commencement of the 12 months’ notice period to grandfather Hyperfibre Business plans with less than 100Mb HTC; and all Hyperfibre Education plans. The 12-month period will expire 1 September 2022 – after that date you won’t be able to order those plans.  

 

Hyperfibre Business will likely work with your bitstream 3 CPE

Did you know Hyperfibre Business will likely work with your existing CPE (eg: routers) that you currently use to connect customers to Bitstream  3/3A plans? However, it will only through-put what your CPE is capable of (eg: 1Gb).

We recommend you test your CPE at the Chorus fibre lab to confirm. Please schedule this through your Chorus Account Team.
If you want your customers to experience the full benefits of Hyperfibre, you may need to upgrade your customer hardware (eg: routers).

 

Next Steps 

If you already have Hyperfibre Business connections with 100Mb HTC, you don’t need to do anything. You will automatically benefit from the lower price points upon implementation in December 2021.

We will work with you to migrate any Hyperfibre Business 2000, 4000 & 8000 connections with 10Mb or 20Mb or 50Mb HTC to the equivalent Hyperfibre Business plan with 100Mb HTC plan.

If you don’t already consume Hyperfibre Business, now is the perfect time to do so as this price adjustment makes it a great choice for medium and corporate grade fibre connections that require high bandwidth, VLANs, High Traffic Class, and enhanced SLAs with Business Restore.
