Chorus and New Zealand Internet Exchange launch Peering services from Chorus fibre handovers
We’re excited to confirm New Zealand just got smaller for you today. Because with the launch of new Peering services at our Mt Eden exchange you can now peer with NZIX’s Auckland IX from any fibre handover in New Zealand!
And just to spell it out, that means you can get direct access to New Zealand’s largest Peering provider right from your existing fibre handover.
How it works is that Chorus will appear as a single switch on the NZIX fabric, bringing content closer to most of New Zealand’s customer networks, and with it faster speeds, lower latency and improved streaming experiences for Kiwi broadband users.
Extend your reach with one easy step
If you have fibre handovers in Mt Eden there are no Chorus charges – get in touch with NZIX today and start peering.
If you have fibre handovers in any other exchanges, we have a new product called EdgeConnect which will connect you to Mt Eden to enable you to peer with NZIX and communicate directly with other NZIX members on the same exchange, whether they are physically connected to NZIX exchange switches at the specific data centre or are other NZIX members connected via EdgeConnect.
EdgeConnect will be available from the Wellington and Christchurch exchanges later in the year.
