Chorus is testing a new broadband demand “lever” to promote the uptake on fibre. Our Chorus Cards introduces a direct incentive to consumers by sending a prepaid MasterCard to households not connected to Chorus network where our fibre is available.
The intention of this pilot is to generate new fibre orders for you.
That is why we have selected a group of addresses currently not active on our network (offnet) and have fibre available. These have been chosen at random to participate in the pilot and some high level details are:
- Addresses selected are mainly in Auckland or Wellington however we have extended this further into the regions from October 2019; and
- There is a mix of addresses that already have fibre installed (intact) and the remaining will require first time fibre install.
To be eligible for the credit they will need to:
- Be the householder at that address, who is the broadband account owner;
- Activate the card via our ‘Chorus Cards Portal’; and
- Place an order with their preferred Broadband Provider and connect to Chorus fibre by the date advised on the promotional letter.
Chorus will then load the relevant $ amount to the card once the address connects to Chorus fibre broadband.
We have been trialling since June 2019 and will manage any communication regarding the card at Chorus, in the first instance we ask that if you have any queries that come to your frontline staff that you direct them to cards@chorus.co.nzor visit our website www.chorus.co.nz/giftcard to find out more about this trial.
