Upcoming NGA Business Premium withdrawal

In November 2022 we notified you about the simplification of our Layer 2 point-to-point portfolio including the withdrawal of NGA Business Premium and HSNS Premium. This serves as a reminder that there is less than: 

  • 4 months before NGA Business Premium is withdrawn (30 November 2023), 
  • 12 months before HSNS Premium is withdrawn (31 July 2024). 

 

Migration plans required

If you have any NGA Business Premium and/or HSNS Premium connections, it is important you provide us a migration plan for these connections as soon as possible. This will help us: 

  • Plan and manage the migrations effectively with our service companies,  
  • Provide a smooth delivery and optimise the migration experience for you and your customers, and 
  • Meet the product withdrawal dates.  

A migration plan should include: 

  • What Chorus business fibre product(s) you intend to migrate your NGA Business Premium and HSNS Premium connections to, and 
  • When you expect these migrations to happen. 

Please provide your migration plan to your Chorus account team. 

If you aren’t in a position to provide a migration plan for both products at the moment, please focus initially on your NGA Business Premium connections, as the withdrawal date for this product is imminent.  

We are actively planning for the 30 November 2023 NGA Business Premium product withdrawal, and we want to ensure all customers are catered for. 

NGA Business Premium orders not received by 31 October 2023 will be migrated to Business Premium.

To ensure we can continue to provide service continuity for your NGA Business Premium customers, deliver the best customer experience and withdraw NGA Business Premium on time, we will implement the following:  

  • For any NGA Business Premium connections remaining where migration orders to another Chorus product, or connection relinquishment orders (ie: RQ’s); have not been placed before 31 October 2023, Chorus will proactively migrate these connections to the Business Premium 1000 service in November 2023. 
  • This applies to NGA Business Premium connections with Network Interface Device (NID) or Glass termination types. A reminder that NGA Business Premium NID support ends 30 September 2023. 
  • The change from NGA Business Premium to Business Premium will result in a short outage. Where possible, the migration from NGA Business Premium to Business Premium will be implemented outside of business hours to reduce any disruption to your customer(s). We will give you advance notice of time/date of this migration. 
  • The P2P Migration Offer - including Free installation, Free Fibre Project Management and credits, up to $10,000 - does not apply where Chorus migrates your NGA Business Premium connections to Business Premium due to migration or RQ orders not being placed by 31 October 2023.

 

HSNS Premium  

We plan to offer a similar type of solution for HSNS Premium. Details to follow in a future update.
