Supporting our industry peers who are non-binary, transitioning or Transgender
Over the past year, the Chorus Rainbow Network has been developing guidelines for our People Leaders and employees that are non-binary, transgender, thinking about transitioning or are in the process of transitioning.
What’s happening?
We’ve drafted these guidelines as we recognise that transgender people have a range of experiences with transitioning or who are non-binary. Some may choose to change or transition legally, socially, and medically, others may only change or transition socially, and some may choose a different combination or none of these.
In developing these initial guidelines, we thought it would be a good idea to have a “group thinktank” on being non-binary, Transitioning and Transgender. Together we believe we can develop a richer set of guidelines which in turn can be used as a template across the Telecommunications industry, helping the industry make positive steps to support people and their needs with care, information, tools and support.
Workshop details
We would like to invite you and trans and non-binary team members to a workshop where we would like to review our existing content and contribute to developing more for the wider industry. The workshop will be hosted by Chorus at our Lab on the 24 March from 1:30pm to 4:30pm*. While we will be facilitating the workshop we will also have the support of someone who has transitioned to be part of the working group to help guide the conversation and answer questions as they arise.
We welcome you to bring any guidelines or content you may already have, and for those who are only starting on your journey in developing some guidelines, come along to ask questions and learn is totally fine too.

*If we are in a position where COVID-19 lockdowns are extended, we may take the decision to hold this event online or we will push the workshop out to a later date. We will keep you updated.
