We recently consulted with the industry on our intention to make the Single Port ONT (SPO), currently only used for High Priority Access, the primary ONT for Business Hyperfibre services. 

At the start of November, we confirmed the positive feedback on the consultation and let you know of the decision to provide the SPO as the primary ONT for Business Hyperfibre.  

In December, we indicated a tentative launch timeframe for this change (from the Gen1 XGS ONT - which we currently use for Business Hyperfibre services) for the use of the SPO on Business Hyperfibre. We can now confirm the launch date as being 3 April 2024. As such, all orders for Business Hyperfibre from 3 April 2024 will use the Single Port ONT.  

Small Business Hyperfibre – as a Bitstream 2 product - will continue to use the current Gen1 XGS ONT, as will Home Hyperfibre.

As per our previous update, we recommend that you carry out any required testing completed prior to launch of the SPO for Business Hyperfibre on 3 April 2024. For any testing that you may wish to do, we would recommend that you utilise the CCIL (Chorus Co-innovation Lab) process, and if you have any questions then please contact your Service Delivery Manager for guidance.

If you have already tested the SPO for use with High Priority Access, then you may have very little to do for testing the SPO on Business Hyperfibre.
