Progress on the Fibre Test Tools initiative

Join us on 8 December for a demonstration of the new fibre testing capability.

What's happening?

You’ve told us that you want more control of the end-to-end customer experience for NGA, including diagnostic tools, so we’ve developed a real-time view of the status of your customer’s fibre that you can use during a customer fault situation.

We’re now ready to show you the first prototype of the tool at a Dialogue session on 8 December 2015.

The session will appeal to people with technical and operational roles. Invites will be sent out later in the week, so please let your Service Delivery Manager know if you are interested in coming along.

What's the detail?

The new tool will provide layer 1 fibre testing capability to you via the Chorus Portal and Technicians in the field via a mobile app on their smart devices.

The goal is to deliver real-time information to diagnose the status of the ONT and traffic passing through, which will mean faster resolution times and a better customer experience. We are also investigating its use to test at the point of connection as a sign-off mechanism.

We would love the opportunity to share some great progress we’ve made to date at the Dialogue session. We will walk you through the deployment plan and you will get hands-on experience with the first prototype and an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
