Post 2020 contractual framework consultation

Given the positioning of broadband in our lives as a necessity, the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth and our progression through UFB1 and UFB2 builds, it seems appropriate to think about what the terms and conditions for our products should be for 2020 and beyond.

Below are our initial thoughts on what this could look like, one contract for all Chorus services.

What’s changing

The current contract environment:

current contract environment

We believe the ideal outcome for Customers and Chorus would be one contract (2020 CSA) for all Chorus services.

The new regulatory environment, which we expect will result in some of the STDs no longer applying nationally, and the expiry of CIP involvement in the UFB1 Reference Offer in 2020 presents a unique opportunity to greatly simplify the contracting environment.

While anchor products will be regulated services, some of the service terms may be based on or incorporated into the 2020 CSA.
