Our broadband checker's got new features
We’ve been busy incorporating all your feedback into our new checker. You’ll find these new features on www.chorus.co.nz, from 8 February 2017.
What's happening?
Last year, we mentioned our on-going work to improve our broadband checker. The checker’s now launching with the functionality promised.
Each address searched shows:
- Its install process – whether it’s a single dwelling unit (SDU), a right of way (ROW) or a multi-dwelling unit (MDU).
- A list of service providers offering fibre.
- Indicative install lead time to connect (for SDU), or once the communal build's completed (for ROW/MDU).
What's the detail?
The broadband checker will show an indicative time before the next available technician appointment. The date will depend on the region, and assumes the network build/consents are complete and we’ve received a valid order.
When fibre is available, the checker provides further details on what we need to do to connect this address type (i.e. SDU, MDU or ROW ). It also shows a randomised list of fibre providers in the region, using data previously provided. If your logo isn’t correctly shown in a given region, please let us know. We’d love to pass you warm leads!
We’re still working on the same functionality for VDSL providers, so end customers know their options if fibre isn’t available. If you’d like to be included on this page, tell us the regions you sell VDSL in (if you haven’t already). We get 80,000 search queries a month, and would love to redirect them to your site.
Who do I contact?
Please contact your service delivery manager with any queries or additional feedback.
