OLT/ONT software upgrade starting mid-August

Last December, we informed you that we will be upgrading our UFB network OLT and ONT software. We are pleased to announce that we will kick off the upgrade at the middle of August 2018.

To ensure a smooth rollout, we will start with a pilot of 13 sites which will be closely monitored for 3 weeks. We will then begin the national rollout which will happen over 4 nights. We target to have it completed by the middle of September. You will receive the impacted ASID details via your Network Events website.

The reboot will cause all ONTs to resync to their OLT host which will mean a short traffic interruption across the NGA network to the OLTs and associated ONTs. We expect service to drop for a brief period of about 5-10 minutes for customers within the usual maintenance window.
