OLT/ONT Software Upgrade Customer Impact

As part of our software lifecycle refresh programme we will be upgrading our UFB network OLT and ONT software early 2018. This upgrade will require rebooting these network elements.

The reboot will cause all ONTs to resync to the OLT host which will mean a short interruption to all traffic running across the network. We expect service to drop for a brief period of about 5-10 minutes for customers within the usual maintenance window.

Next steps

We will provide you with at least a month notice in advance of the upgrades progressing, with a Change Description including the implementation dates and information on what we are testing before progressing the upgrades. Your Chorus Service Delivery Manager will be able to provide further information when it becomes available.
