We recognise the importance of your voice services to your business. To ensure that you can offer your customers the best service possible we are introducing a new resilient 1Gbps commercial handover connection option for your Baseband IP traffic.

This means that in the event of a handover connection failure you can switch your Baseband IP traffic to your secondary handover to minimise the impact on your customers.

The new resilient handover option will enable you to manage such a failure by implementing an IP layer redundancy protocol such as “Virtual router redundancy protocol” (VRRP). Chorus will manually build a Virtual private LAN service (VPLS) per customer on the ISAM.

What’s changing

The new handover connection option will be available to order, in Wireline, from mid-April.

For new customers, you will need to complete two handover links feasibility requests, stating that they are to be resilient, identifying which is the Primary and the Secondary.

For existing customers, you will need to complete a new handover feasibility request, stating that it is to be a resilient Secondary to an existing Primary.

Standard handover connection monthly and install charges will apply for the resilient handover.
