Install of Simple or Plug and Play Customer Premises Equipment product change

What’s happening?

For a new fibre install under the NGA Residential Offer, Simple Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) installation charges are currently waived (item 2.3 - appendix 3 - Ultra-fast Broadband (UFB) price list ancillary charges, table B).

 

As of 1 November 2018:

- For addresses that have an intact fibre, where fibre has previously been installed, any new requests to install Simple or Plug & Play CPE is increasing to $125.

- We have updated the UFB price list for Simple CPE to cover the costs of the truck roll and associated work to install Simple or Plug & Play CPE (item 2.3 and 2.4 - appendix 3 - UFB price list ancillary charges, table B).

- We will start to charge item 2.4 to recover costs of truck roll and associated costs for installing Plug & Play CPE where fibre is intact. This will increase from the $35 currently charged.

- We will update the description of the following price list items in appendix 3 - UFB price list ancillary charges, table B. We will begin charging item 2.4 when a Customer Service Experience (CSE) is requested for an address with an intact fibre:

  • Item 2.3 will change, but won’t incur a cost as Simple or Plug & Play CPE installation charges are currently waived for new fibre install under the NGA Residential Offer.

What’s the detail?

The charge will be triggered when you order an intact connection ‘with CSE’ option. You can check for existing ONTs by simply looking up the customers address and watching out for the existing ONT information in Chorus Portal. You can alternatively retrieve this information via B2B by querying site information via “QuerySiteInformationRequest”.

  • If you want the technician to visit your customers’ premises to install your Simple or Plug and Play CPE you can order the intact with a ‘Standard CSE’, which will now incur a charge of $125.
  • If you do not want to use this product you can remotely activate your new UFB service by ordering the intact service without the Customer Service Experience (CSE) and choose the ‘No CSE required’ option.

Please ensure your customer receives any required CPE/Residential Gateway (RGW) prior to the activation date.
