Hyperfibre automated feasibility - intacts

Currently all Hyperfibre connections require manual checking to ensure the right equipment is in place. With significant investment being put into upgrading this equipment in the exchange proactively as part of our scaling Hyperfibre programme, we want to make sure the customer journey is as seamless as possible, potentially allowing us to deliver Hyperfibre within the week. This change will allow us to deliver Hyperfibre more quickly.

Proposed changes – introduction of automated feasibility:

This system change will allow the feasibility to be completed before an order is submitted, allowing you to book your upgrade appointment accurately in real time. We are going to be doing two releases for this, the first will focus on:

  • Addresses that already have an intact GPON ONT that is to be upgraded to Hyperfibre 2000, 4000 plans or High Priority Access 1000.

The key benefit this will deliver is orders that are placed against ONTs that are connected to upgraded line-cards will not have to wait the four-week advanced scheduling lead time but will be scheduled straight out to the field. A list of addresses with Hyperfibre ready line-cards can be found here.

We recommend you test your systems and inform us if there is any impact before these changes go live.

Prod-EMMA is targeted to be updated for testing by 15 August 2023.  This change is targeted to be deployed to production on 25 September 2023.

The second release will add functionality for installing new ONTs and include Hyperfibre 8000. We have split the delivery into two deployments to ensure we get value for the most common orders as soon as possible, solving the more complicated and less common scenarios early next year.
