First new fibre build locations nearly complete

Further to our update in February, the new fibre build programme is well underway with works commencing in six locations so far – Waiau Pa, Whitecliffs, Otaramarae, Kerikeri, Atawhai and Mangaroa. The build in the first location, Otaramarae, is due to be completed in May with a staged completion in other areas through until mid-August 2024.

 

Installation process 

We have already sourced hundreds of expressions of interest across these communities from end customers who wish to get fibre installed to their premise.  

Chorus is planning to complete fibre installs to the addresses in these six locations that have expressed interest already, to help speed up the connection process. This is similar to the proactive Chorus led initiatives in the past. 

 

New project webpage

To keep you updated on progress we have created a new webpage with further new fibre build details, listing planned build details out until October 2024. This list includes locations where build is due for completion and an indication of when premises will be ready to connect.

It will be updated on a regular basis as the programme progresses and we will notify you via the service provider update channels when this happens.

 

How to place an order

If you have any customers that come to you prior to the 'ready for service' date, please advise them to register their interest in getting fibre installed  here.

After the 'ready for service' date, if a customer expresses interest in getting fibre, you should be able to submit an order. However, if there is already an inflight Chorus Connect (CC) order please email Chorus_NGA@chorus.co.nz to request cancellation of the inflight order and submit your own. Please use ‘Inflight CC order - cancellation request’ in your subject heading and be sure to include Address, Location ID/TLC and customer details.
