Fibre Customer Order Management (FCOM) data retention change update

Earlier this month we told you about changes to hide Personally Identifiable Information, which you would see in the customer ordering channels (Chorus Portal, B2B, API) planned for 4 May 2025.

In response to feedback received, we will no longer be pseudonymising* the Service Provider Reference ID field. Please ensure the Service Provider Reference ID field does not contain any personal information. Moving forward, use references that do not include PII.

*Pseudonymisation is the process of removing personal identifiers from data and replacing those identifiers with placeholder values (in this case “Customer PII Removed”).

Apart from this field (Service Provider Reference ID), all other changes in the pack are still accurate. Please refer to the existing pack for all other impacted fields.

These changes are being made to improve how we manage Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and enhance Chorus’ compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act.
