Extended Handover ICABS Offer

What’s happening

We launched the initial Handover ICABS offer in January 2019. We are now replacing this offer with an Extended Handover ICABS Offer until March 2020 and adding new options to be eligible for it. This offer also takes into account the Chorus Alternative Sites announced in April 2019.

To make it easy for you to continue grow your network we are including the dark fibre variant of Intra Candidate Area Backhaul Service (ICABS) when you purchase new handovers or colocation at qualifying exchanges.

We are including these ICABS as part of the handover and colocation purchases at specific exchanges where capacity constraints may be preventing you from taking these products. These ICABS will be provided between specific pairs of exchanges outlined in the tables below.

What’s the detail

We will now provide included ICABS in two scenarios:

  • Scenario 1 – when you purchase a new handover at an Alternative Exchange (please refer to Table A (i) for UFB Handovers or Table A (ii) for UBA Handovers) and need connectivity back to colocation footprints in Existing Exchanges where there is no handover capacity.

  • Scenario 2 – when you purchase new colocation footprints at an Alternate Exchange (please refer to Table A (iii) Colocation) and need connectivity back to handovers in corresponding Existing Exchanges where there is no colocation capacity.

We have also reviewed a number of terms in the original Offer and split out the Existing and Alternative Exchanges for UFB and UBA Handover Services. The Existing Exchanges are the exchanges where Chorus is aware that there are current capacity issues. These ICABS will facilitate connectivity between Existing and Alternate exchanges (as per the tables).

Supporting information

The offer will expire on 31 March 2020 following which the full charges for ICABS will become applicable. We want to collaborate with you during this period to help overcome these capacity constraints to provide you with a long term solution. We want to work with you to develop a plan to meet your Handover and Colocation requirements in the exchanges covered by this Offer.  Chorus recognises that these Plans will need to be tailored to your particular circumstances as each Service Provider is different.
