Over the first two rounds of the Market Development Fund (MDF) we gathered your feedback to help inform future funding programme initiatives. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to participate and provide feedback.

This has helped us develop this next round of the Fund, with some key changes.

• More funding available – we have up to $75,000 per provider available via application.

• You choose the activity that is right for your brand – we are not restricting the activity you undertake to market fibre in Chorus fibre areas.

• Easier application process – we’ve reduced the supporting information you need to provide.

• Expanded opportunities – we have two opportunities this round and have opened this up to both consumer and business customers.

Funding opportunities:

Opportunity #1: Fibre advertising in Chorus fibre areas.

We have a total of $550,000 to support your fibre marketing over the winter months in Chorus fibre areas. Eligible advertising will need to run before 31 August 2018.

• We will match your media spend dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000 per service provider on advertising in Chorus fibre areas.

• To be eligible your advertising must promote the following:

  • 100 or Gig fibre plan with unlimited data; or

  • business fibre.

• Because the advertising must be in Chorus fibre areas eligible media must be able to be regionally targeted.

Opportunity #2: Commuter Network digital advertising.

We have secured a long-term digital outdoor advertising placement on the Auckland commuter network comprising of 53 advertising sites in prominent commuter locations such as train stations, bus depots and ferry terminals. We are making available week-long placements for our service provider partners to utilise these placements.

• To be eligible your advertising must promote the following:

  • 100 or Gig fibre plan with unlimited data; or

  • Business (SME) fibre plans.

• There is no cost for this placement you will just need to supply artwork within the specified deadline.  

We will be allocating weeks on a first in first served basis. Review the available dates below and from 9:30am on Tuesday 5th June 2018 we will be accepting applications for these spaces. Your applications must identify your preferred week and a back-up week.
