Chorus fibre price changes – without prejudice protective notice

On 5 July 2023 we notified you that we will proceed with the price changes as outlined in our 3 May 2023 consultation. We have now used the methodology we proposed in our 5 July customer update to calculate the price increase which we have confirmed in our accompanying update today (19 July). The pricing changes will accordingly take effect from 1 October 2023.   

In the event that our 5 July customer update does not constitute sufficient notice under the terms of the CSA 2022/Reference Offer, this email constitutes formal notice of the price changes under cl 24.4(b) and 24.5(b) of the CSA 2022/Reference Offer.  

Important note: This notice is published on a without prejudice basis.

Our pricing changes remain the same as set out in our earlier customer updates. However, in the event that those earlier customer updates in relation to the Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS, Fibre 300 and Small Business Fibre 500 plans are determined not to constitute sufficient notice under the terms of the CSA 2022/Reference Offer, these changes will take effect from 12 October 2023.   

We’ve calculated the percentage by which the CPI – All Groups index for the June quarter 2023 (1231) exceeds the June quarter 2022 (1161), expressed as 6.0%. The current prices for the Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS and Fibre 300 plans will be increased by this percentage and Small Business Fibre 500 will be increased by the March CPI as it comes out lower than $5 above the adjusted Fibre 300 price. Next Steps

The price changes for the Broadband Anchor, Voice Anchor, LUDFAS, Fibre 300 and Small Business Fibre 500 plans will apply from 12 October 2023, in the event that our earlier customer updates are determined not to constitute sufficient notice under the terms of the 2022 CSA/Reference Offer. 

Service providers will receive their first invoices reflecting the price changes described above in the October billing cycle.
