Assurance API – update on API availability
As you will be aware, the new Assurance website has recently had its final release of the project, and we are hearing excellent feedback across the RSP community about your experience using it.
We want to provide you the same great experience for those planning to use our API channel, so you can enhance your own customer experience and business efficiency.
However, this API is a little different to our other recent releases. It doesn’t yet have a sandbox environment and being our most complex API to date - requires significant Chorus resource to support the wider API community to onboard currently.
There are two customers who are onboarding to the API as priority which we are supporting. This is because they are using legacy eBXML B2B which is in plan for decommissioning (as per Chorus update 22.11.19). We are learning as they work through their onboarding experience to understand where the pain-points might be.
Therefore, we are currently unable to open access to our wider API community. The earliest we expect to be able to accept application requests will be Q4 2020 (calendar year).
The reasons for this are:
- Covid-19 has caused unforeseen delays and resource capability is constrained
- We are exploring service virtualisation as a more future-proofed solution
Next steps
We will know more about resource availability, and the service virtualisation of the API in coming months. We will continue to provide updates on the API’s availability as we progress throughout the year and we really appreciate your patience, especially those API early adopters.
