4th Gen ONT introduction update 

Overview

On 26 July 2021, we notified you of our intention to introduce a new ONT for NGA services due to global supply chain challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, we advised indicative timeframes and offered an update on progress by the end of August. 

The purpose of this notice is to confirm that we are on track to meet the indicative timeframes previously advised. We expect to begin our internal testing of the fourth generation ONT in early September and make test plans available to you shortly thereafter. 

 

Refined timelines 

We have refined some of our indicative timeframes, as outlined below: 

  • July/Aug 2021 – RSP communication of change and initial discussions 
  • Sep/Oct 2021 – RSP workshops and test plans  provided 
  • Nov/Dec 2021 – RSP testing commences 
  • Jan to March 2022 - Service company training  
  • March 2022 – RSP readiness check   
  • April to June 2022 – Launch of 4th Gen ONT
