100Gbps UFB handover trials

We’re trialling our new 100Gbps handover service on our core network. Initially deploying at Mt Eden and Forrest Hill, this service boosts capacity to help meet your customers’ growing needs. We’re accepting feasibilities (and orders) now.

Supporting details

These handovers are being offered with port diversity (1+1 or 2+2 LAG). As there will be more customers on this link, this reduces the risk of having a single point of failure. In the near future, we’ll also offer best practice options for handovers such as node and geographic diversity.

Forrest Hill, one of the sites where the 100Gbps handover is available to trial, will become a full POI site in the future.

We released the service description for review a few months ago. You can find the final version under this page’s Resources.

Next steps

To participate in the 100Gbps Handover trial you will need to sign the trial agreement which is available from your account manager or solutions consultant.

As a new technology, feasibilities are likely to take longer than usual. Should you require advice on redesigning your network for these handovers, contact your account manager or email SolutionsConsulting@chorus.co.nz.
