Automated Teller Machine (ATM)

Overview

Automated Teller Machine (ATM), is a self-service banking terminal. It allows people to perform basic banking transactions without the need for a bank teller.

Providing connectivity to ATMs can be challenging due to technology, security, and financial risks. Unmanned sites can complicate coordination with site contacts and security. For these reasons, head office authorisation and coordination with the property owner where the ATM is installed may be required. Please share any specific requirements ahead of the scheduled date.

*NOTE: ATM connections are considered smart location connections, however, due to the complexity of connecting ATMs, this checklist, in conjunction with the smart location guidelines, should improve the ordering process

ONT

An ONT, or Optical Network Terminal, is often called a "fibre box." It connects the fibre optic cable from the street to the router, acting as a bridge between the Chorus fibre network and broadband service.

Overview

The fibre off-net address list is designed to target fibre available addresses that are not currently connected to Chorus fibre. It also includes additional datasets to assist in planning and decision-making.

Features

  • Fibre availability and status
  • ONT installation
  • Property type
  • Multi dwelling Unit (MDU) information
  • Fibre expansion, new to fibre within last 3 months

Understanding data accuracy and limitations

It's important to note that while the off-net list provides valuable insights, there are certain factors to consider regarding data accuracy and limitations:

Indicative information: Some features and details provided in the list are indicative and may not be guaranteed. Limitations on third-party data sources and delays, as well as timing differences, inevitably result in discrepancies between the information presented and the actual conditions at a given address. For example, an address may transition from off-net to on-net during the month.

Report location and frequency

Monthly Updates: The report is generated monthly at the beginning of each month.
