VDSL advertising campaign results
We wanted to share some of the results for our first round of advertising and announce the next region we’ll be targeting.
What's happening?
We know that 58 per cent of people on the Chorus network could be getting better broadband than they are right now, so in May we launched an advertising campaign in Hamilton, Tauranga and New Plymouth to encourage consumers to switch to VDSL.
Since launch, the advertising videos have generated over 67,000 views and we’ve had over 16,000 clicks through to the VDSL advertising campaign landing page on chorus.co.nz.
We’re now ready to begin the next round of advertising in Christchurch and will be announcing further rounds in Whangarei and Whanganui soon.
What's the detail?
While our ultimate goal is to get people on to fibre, we want to make sure we’re meeting the needs of those who want faster broadband today.
Recent improvements to the VDSL service, such as offering connection only, have meant that it’s an easy solution to improve business and residential broadband speeds with minimal disruption.
Moving to the 998 band plan has also allowed us to provide an average of 50Mbps download speeds and greater line stability over copper to more people around New Zealand.
Advertising campaign next steps
The next round of advertising activity for Christchurch will begin on 11 July and runs for six weeks over geo-targeted digital, mobile and social media advertising.
Whangarei and Whanganui activity will be announced closer to the time.
