Trialling new ways to connect customers

We’re testing different ways to partner with you, and really drive fibre uptake. Let us know how we can help.

What's happening?

Earlier this month, Spark and UFF announced that they were trialling a street by street sales campaign to migrate their customers to fibre. They’ve been asking us to trial a similar approach. This morning, we’re announcing a pilot in Whakatane with Spark to bulk-migrate their customers to fibre services.

What's the detail?

There are two key aspects we’re trialling. Firstly, does giving a customer an install date during a (door to door) sales call drive higher uptake? Secondly, can we leverage a high number of orders within a focused area, to improve end customers’ experience?

Providing a connection date during a sale is something we can help with today. This could involve providing your sales team with direct portal access or schedule information. Our portal already has ‘look and book’ functionality, which can confirm dates at the point of sale.

We can also help confirm which areas have spare technician capacity. (Currently, we have good availability in Auckland, Taupo, Whakatane and Rotorua).

The other aspect being tested, is an accelerated installation. We want to understand what can be achieved, by trying a different approach. This is similar to what we’re doing today with our MDU Bulk Service Request Offer (Informer 364). It helps you co-ordinate orders when you’re targeting specific MDUs. Part of this trial is to understand if we can practically offer the same approach, outside of large MDUs.

We’re committed to growing fibre uptake. As such we're interested in any similar ideas you may have that we can use for initial, low scale trials - with a view to understanding their impact and rolling the successes out across the industry.
