Reactive Copper Transition workshop
As you’re aware, all copper services in Chorus fibre areas are now under notice of Copper Withdrawal, and copper services in LFC areas will soon follow. As we move forward, it’s important to consider how best to deal with copper network faults across Aotearoa in the most effective way.
Why change is needed
Repairing copper faults is becoming increasingly difficult due to diminishing availability of equipment and skilled technicians, while alternatives like fibre and fixed wireless are readily available.
For some time now we have been piloting a programme to help transition rural copper customers with complex copper faults to alternate technology solutions.
We believe the time is right to take the learnings from that pilot programme and expand the Reactive Copper Transition process to Chorus and LFC fibre areas.
This process will help customers move to fibre or wireless services (where available) rather than waiting an extended period for a copper repair.
Join one of our workshops
To support this shift, we’re hosting two online workshops to explain the Reactive Copper Transition process, its benefits for customers and RSPs, and how it could become a BAU process for managing copper faults.
There will be two identical workshops held on 2 and 3 July 2025. We’d value your input and invite your Assure Management, Customer Experience and Product teams to attend one of the sessions that best suits their schedule. Please click on one of the appointments below to register and add the workshop to your calendar.
