Notice of rate card pricing for TPAD & Exchange Space RQ charges
In response to customer feedback and to help improve the Chorus quote turnaround time and provide customers with improved costs visibility, we are giving notice that we are formalising the charges for two services to replace existing POA/quote-based pricing with rate card pricing for the following relinquishment charges from 1 July 2022:
- relinquishment of Fibre Drawer Connectivity under the Third Party Access and Distribution Service (TPAD); and
- relinquishment of MOFDF connection points under the Exchange Space Service.
The proposed rate card pricing for these relinquishment charges is:
- $330.95 for the first relinquishment request received in a customer order for a network site (i.e., exchange); and
- if two or more relinquishment requests are received at the same time (as part of the same customer order as the first relinquishment request) for the same network site (i.e., exchange), then the second and each subsequent relinquishment request in that customer order will be charged at $165.48.
We note that these new rate card charges are on average the same as the existing charges invoiced on a POA/quote basis (there are some existing geographic differences which have been averaged out to ensure the same price nationally). We are responding to feedback that the POA/quote mechanism leaves room for uncertainty, and is not useful when in practice the charges have been largely standardised by practice. The move to ratecard pricing formalises the pricing that has been in effect through the POA/quote mechanism, but provides RSPs with more certainty and transparency.
Next steps
We will contact current customers of the TPAD and Exchange Space Services to give customers the opportunity to advise us if they have any objections to the introduction of rate card pricing for these relinquishment charges.
If customers do not advise us that they object to the rate card pricing before 1 July 2022, we will treat them as having agreed to the rate card pricing from that date.
