NGA Tail Extension launch delay

Informer 377: 29 June 2016

Due to a decision to focus on the operational integrity of our systems, we need to delay the launch of NGA Tail Extension until at least October 2016.

What's happening?

In May we advised you our target launch date for NGA Tail Extension was July 2016 and that we would confirm the actual launch date closer to the time.

Building on the recent improvements in the resilience of our operational systems we have made a call to prioritise further system resilience enhancements over new offerings, which has meant a delay in the implementation of NGA Tail Extension until at least October 2016.

We appreciate this is disappointing, but we believe that focussing our efforts to provide continued operational integrity is the right approach.

What's the detail?

We recognise the importance of reliability on the Chorus Portal and have undertaken an extensive review of our order and provisioning systems.

This review has proposed a number of fixes and enhancements that we’re currently implementing. We have also updated our release process to increase our focus on performance and stability regression testing.

Moving our focus to the operational integrity of our systems has meant that the NGA Tail Extension enhancements, which were planned for July, have now been tentatively rescheduled to our October release.

We will provide you with an update before the end July. If you have any questions before then please talk to your Service Delivery Manager.
