We’re introducing new Chorus Regional Transport Cook Strait and 100Gb pricing options.

What's happening?

As a direct result of your feedback we will be introducing Cook Strait capability and intra-island 100Gb pricing in the new year.

What's the detail?

On 13 July 2015 we announced an increase to the geographic coverage of our Chorus Regional Transport (CRT) service and new pricing across all point-to-point routes. In Q2 next year we will be offering CRT across Cook Strait with both 10Gb and 100Gb bandwidth pricing.

Physical network build is currently under way and we will provide more details early in the new year. In the interim we can provide indicative pricing for these services:

• 100Gb CRT service (within North Island and South Island) based on the distance pricing up to a maximum of $31,500 per island, per month; and
• Cook Strait 10Gb service at $5,500 per month; and
• Cook Strait 100Gb service at $41,200 per month

Please note:

• Either Cook Strait service will be in addition to any North or South Island CRT services
• 100Gb bandwidth option will also be available in Q2 next year
• Changes to the CRT service are outlined above do not impact the current ordering processes
• The service description will be updated to reflect these changes in due course
