New field services agreement

Our current field services agreement introduced in 2009 is about to expire. This change affects three service partners: Visionstream, Downer and Broadspectrum.

A new field service agreement has been agreed and signed with an effect date of 1 July 2019.

The new agreement covers all copper services including proactive maintenance (detecting and addressing the network to avoid faults), reactive maintenance (Faults) and connect (provisioning). This also covers fibre maintenance and all non UFB build.

  • Visionstream areas of coverage: Auckland and Northland (no change to their current regions)
  • Downer areas of coverage: rest of New Zealand.

We are running a programme to ensure a smooth transition during the month of June to minimise customer impact. The transition from Broadspectrum to Downer will be phased:

  • South Island – from 14 June 2019
  • North Island impacted areas – from 28 June 2019
  • No change to Auckland or Northland

During this transition period, we aim to:

  • Maintain day-to-day operational performance for our customers
  • Protect the reputation of Chorus, service providers and all service companies through a well-managed and coordinated transition process
  • Work with the service companies to ensure all work in progress (WIP) for provisioning and build work is not impacted.
  • Run fault restoration as usual in areas being transitioned.

This change will not impact your current processes and contacts within Chorus. If you have any questions, get in touch with your Service Delivery Manager.
