Making changes to our copper provisioning system
As a part of bringing better broadband to New Zealand, we’re upgrading how we provision our copper broadband services. In October, we’ll replace our current system with a new copper service order manager. This is the system that creates, changes or removes copper broadband services at your customers’ addresses, via our network.
Supporting details
To ensure continuation of services, we’ll swap out our systems in a controlled way. We'll have both systems running in parallel, while we migrate our copper network inventory and information to the new system. This will be in stages. We anticipate it’s business as usual for the provisioning of copper broadband orders.
We’ll let you know further details as we work through the detailed plan. This includes how we’ll work with you to support other processes - such as our handover link re-mapping service.
Once we’re satisfied the migration's successful, we’ll retire the old system in early 2018.
Next steps
There is nothing you need to do. As a back-end system change, you won’t see changes to the way you order, track and manage your copper broadband services. We just wanted you to be aware of this major system change underway in October.
If you have any questions or have planned work underway, please talk to your service delivery manager.
