Big Fibre Boost update including overclocking bandwidth increased

On 16 December 2024 we confirmed the Big Fibre Boost. Following feedback from you, we have included a slide on in-flight order behaviour and FAQs around the changes. We have an updated Big Fibre Boost Implementation Guide (now v1.1)

Over the last few weeks, we have tested the changed plans to ensure the best experience for end users and Service Providers. As a result, we’ve decided to increase overclocking bandwidth from 10% to 15% across the boosted Home Fibre plans.

The new specifications are in the updated Implementation Guide. An updated service description will be provided to the April Product Forum for endorsement.

This decision reflects our commitment to supporting real-world peak-time performance that aligns with the headline speeds marketed to consumers. The increase will help to avoid situations where performance under the Measuring Broadband New Zealand (MBNZ) programme falls below advertised speeds.

All other details of the Big Fibre Boost remain unchanged, with implementation still scheduled to commence from 3 June 2025. We’ve also updated the Big Fibre Boost Implementation Guide (v1.1) with details on this change.
