We're upgrading rural exchanges

However, adding Baseband IP limits us from offering UCLL / Baseband Copper at affected exchanges.

What's happening?

We’ve started installing Baseband IP at selected rural exchanges. Effectively, they’ll become cabinets with the ability to carry voice and broadband services. Once upgraded though, you’ll no longer be able to order UCLL or Baseband Copper.

What's the detail?

There’s no need to do anything. None of the exchanges we’re upgrading have been unbundled and you'll be able to order Baseband IP. If you're thinking of unbundling, you’ll be able to order Sub Loop UCLL. We’ll let you know of affected exchanges via our website here.

We’ve already migrated the Nightcaps exchange. Our plans for other exchanges are:

Anything else?

Please note:

  • Spark Wholesale services will function as normal, apart from a few minutes outage.
  • If affected exchanges are offering your UCLL or Baseband Copper lines, we’ll contact you to arrange a migration.
  • After upgrading, Baseband IP and Sub Loop UCLL will be available.
  • For Baseband IP, the regulated UCLFS price applies. There will be no Baseband IP Extended uplift. Any existing services will be repriced.
