From 26 January 2015 the Chorus Blue Zone (or ‘standard fibre install zone') outside our UFB areas will be removed and the installation price of our fibre services in these areas will change to Price on Application (POA). 

What's happening?

In 2009 we introduced a fixed rate installation zone for HSNS Premium providing fibre installation at a fixed price notwithstanding the actual installation costs. This is commonly known as ‘Blue Zone’ or ‘standard fibre install’ zone. This fixed rate installation zone was extended in 2011 to include HSNS Lite Fibre, BFAS and vDFAS services and applied both inside and outside our UFB areas.

From 26 January 2015 we will remove this fixed rate installation zone outside our UFB areas and change the price for fibre installation to Price On Application (POA) to recover our actual installation costs.

A summary of the HSNS Premium, HSNS Lite Fibre, vDFAS and BFAS installation price changes can be found on our website on the pricing tab of each of the product pages.

From 26 January 2015 when requesting a HSNS Premium, HSNS Lite Fibre, vDFAS or BFAS fibre service outside our UFB areas, a POA quote will be provided. Our current quoting and provisioning processes will apply to these orders and can be found on the Tools section of our website.

Chorus Coverage Maps (for HSNS), Fibre Feasibility Self Check (for vDFAS and BFAS) and relevant contracts will be updated on 26 January 2015 to reflect the change by removing the fixed rate installation zone.
