Improvements to our end user communications
We're looking to drive an increase in the uptake of our fibre and copper broadband connections with the introduction of 'end of build' notifications and a trial period of targeted online advertising. We also look forward to celebrating the completion of the UFB rollout with Oamaru this month.
What's happening?
On 15 December we will celebrate the completion of the UFB rollout in Oamaru.
From February 2015, we're introducing two new communications channels that will be seen by your customers. The first is a UFB build completion postcard and the second a series of targeted, online banner advertisements aiming to raise awareness of broadband availability in their locality.
What's the detail?
Build Completion in Oamaru
The first town in New Zealand to complete build is Oamaru. To celebrate with the town we will be holding an event on the 15th December, placing some media advertisements and sending our build completion postcards to all premises that have been passed by fibre. If you would like to find out what media is planned please contact your account manager who will be able to provide you with the media schedule etc.
Build Completion Postcards
For two years we have been communicating with your customers through the build process for UFB. To complete the build cycle we are now sending a postcard to tell your customers that the build has been completed and to contact you to get a connection.
The postcards will be sent on a monthly basis, to any address that has been passed over the previous month and will now return a positive result in pre-qualification. We will start on 1 February and cover any address that will have been passed in January. The addresses will be available on our website here.
Our deployment communications section on the website has been updated to reflect this new collateral.
Banner Advertising Trial
If you are in Christchurch or Wellington you may see our new online banner advertising that is aimed to raise awareness of high speed broadband availability. The banners are targeted; in Christchurch they will talk about VDSL, and in Wellington UFB fibre where it is available.
This is a trial using Google Ads to see if uptake of those products increases with visibility of these ads. When your customers’ click on the ad they will be directed to our website to talk about broadband benefits, and direct them to the maps to see what broadband option they have and then to the list of available service providers.
