Grandfathering of BUBA ATM Handover Connection and BUBA 256/128k plan

As we continue to deliver a better online experience, we are grandfathering two of our BUBA services.

What's happening?

Effective 01 August 2015 we will be grandfathering the following two commercial services.

  • BUBA services – BUBA 256/128k
  • BUBA ATM Handover Connections

Effective 01 November 2016 these services will be withdrawn.

What's the detail?

The grandfathering of the BUBA 256/128k and BUBA ATM Handover Connections to Level 1 on 01 August 2015 means:

  • No new customers may obtain the product
  • Existing customers can keep the instances of the product they already have
  • If an existing customer moves they cannot keep the product
  • Existing customers cannot order more instances of the product

This is the second step in our grandfathering process. It is not mandatory to move your customers at this stage however there is a very straightforward migration process and it provides an ideal situation to discuss better broadband services with your customers.

On the 01 November 2016 both products will be withdrawn. This means that any instances of the product must have been moved on to other available variants.

BUBA Handover connections are used to carry your BUBA traffic. The variant being grandfathered and withdrawn is the ATM version only. You can still purchase Ethernet BUBA handover connections.

Many of your customers, who are currently on the BUBA 256/128k, plan can get a better broadband experience by transitioning to a EUBA, VDSL or BUBA FS/FS plan.

Migration is simple. Go to OO&T and perform a prequalification to confirm what the service options are available at your customer’s address and place a change plan order.
