Full launch of Baseband IP Extended

Baseband IP Extended is moving to full launch with a significantly increased coverage area, simpler pricing and a multi-site transfer option.

What's happening?

We are pleased to announce we are moving to the full launch for Baseband IP Extended on 31 July. Responding to demand we have made the service available more widely based on feedback that you wanted more coverage certainty. Additionally we have developed a new migration option that gives you the ability to plan multi-site migrations.

What's the detail?

Baseband IP offers you the opportunity to provide your own differentiated voice service to your customers together with broadband, BUBA, EUBA and VDSL. This means you can use the same equipment and provide the same voice proposition to both your copper and fibre customers helping smooth their transition to fibre.

Baseband IP Extended is an option under Baseband IP that expands the coverage of Baseband IP with new pricing and a multi-site transfer option.

Increased coverage

We are making Baseband IP Extended available in an additional 1,430 cabinets and exchanges over the next 12 months as demand is confirmed. This increases Baseband IP coverage to approximately 68 percent of all copper lines.

You can see where we intend to make the Baseband IP Extended option available in our Baseband Availabilityspreadsheet. Baseband Copper is also available in these locations.

New pricing

Baseband IP Extended is offered at an additional uplift charge to Baseband IP. At full launch, this uplift will increase from $2.75 to $5.50.

Baseband IP Extended - standaloneCurrent$23.52$2.75$26.27

*Baseband IP pricing is based on UCLFS and the appropriate broadband prices apply when taking broadband and Baseband IP Extended together.

The new pricing will apply to both new and existing connections.

Multi-site transfer

Baseband IP Extended’s multi-site transfer is a new migration option available to help you migrate your voice connections across multiple exchanges or cabinets. It will be available on the following terms:

  • For existing voice connections with the same RSP, with or without UBA or VDSL.
  • Available at all Baseband IP Extended locations shown on the Baseband Availability spreadsheet.
  • No transfer charge will be applied for multi-site transfers that form a part of an agreed migration plan.
  • Standard transfer charges will apply for transfers outside of the Baseband IP Extended multi-site transfer migration plan.
  • Migration of voice connections to Baseband IP can be included in the migration plan, but standard transfer charges will apply.

We would appreciate it if you could respond with an ‘expression of interest’ in taking up the service as soon aspossible so we can work with you on a migration plan.

New Baseband contract

The current Baseband IP Soft Launch Agreement will terminate on 31 July and be replaced with a new Basebandcontract. This outlines terms for all variants of Baseband, including the Baseband IP Extended option.

A draft Baseband contract is available on our Agreements page now. We would like your feedback before we make a final contract available on 19 June.
