Fibre Testing Application update
Informer 324: 29 February 2016
Today we launched the prototype for the new Fibre Testing Application (previously known as Fibre Test Tools).
What's happening?
Today we launched the prototype of the Fibre Testing Application to customers who were part of the user experience design workshops.
The prototype launch is purely dummy data so these customers can assess and provide feedback on the screen transition, look and feel, user guides and help documentation.
What's the detail?
You’ve told us that you want more control of the end-to-end customer experience for NGA, including diagnostic tools, so we’ve developed a real-time view of the status of your customer’s fibre that your teams will be able to use during a fault situation.
The new tool will provide layer 1 fibre testing capability (for Bitstream 2, 3 and 3a products only) to you so you have access to real-time information to diagnose the status of the ONT and traffic passing through.
This will mean faster resolution times and a better customer experience. We are also investigating its use to test at point of connection as a sign-off mechanism.
Who should I contact?
We’re planning to launch the pilot with live data in April. There are limited spots available for testing the pilot so please talk to your Service Delivery Manager if you are interested.
