Chorus Application Security improvements update

As we outlined on 2 October 2024, we will be making additional improvements to our security requirements to better protect our data and resources in mid-February of this year.

We can now provide a confirmed date and more detail on what this means for you.

Why change?

Online security risks are constantly evolving, which means that we need to adapt in the way that we protect our systems and data.

We offer applications that can be accessed online (like Chorus Portal and the Assurance Website), or via a mobile device using an @Chorus.co.nz login. We use Microsoft Entra ID (previously Azure) to manage login and security.

What you need to know

At 5pm on 26 February 2025, we will be enabling the below Security features:

  • Requiring Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) per session.
  • MFA will be required for access at least once every business day.
  • Removing remember ‘MFA’ and ‘Keep me signed in’ pop-ups

FAQ

A: Yes if a person logs out of the Chorus application, they will need to log in and use MFA to gain access again.

Q: If I’m using multiple Chorus applications, will I need to MFA into each one?
