Government departments

Overview

These sites are typically owned and operated by a government entity. Examples include hospitals, councils, WINZ, and IRD offices.

Providing connectivity to government departments can be challenging due to the highly sensitive information handled on-site. Strict requirements and approval processes must be followed. Please communicate these requirements ahead of the scheduled date.

ONT

An ONT, or Optical Network Terminal, is often called a "fibre box." It connects the fibre optic cable from the street to the router, acting as a bridge between the Chorus fibre network and broadband service.
