Overview
The Broadband and Voice Anchor services together with LUDFAS provide the three basic services required to deliver residential and business communication services over fibre that are required by MBIEs 2021 regulations. These are a 100/20 bitstream service, a voice over fibre service (formerly Baseband) and a large user dark fibre access service (formerly DFAS).
The regulations which describe these anchor services are available on the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment website. The bitstream anchor service is a new service providing a consistent reliable connection providing 100Mbps down / 20Mbps up of low priority traffic and 2.5Mbps symmetrical high priority traffic.
For its delivery of the regulated dark fibre access service (LUDFAS) Chorus has amended the current Direct Fibre Access Service to comply with the regulated service description. For the voice service we have similarly amended the current Baseband Service to comply with the regulated voice service.
