Auto-Switching Diversity is launching on 16 September 2024
In January 2024 we provided an update detailing the outcome of our industry consultation and our decision to proceed with the development of Auto-Switching Diversity.
We are now pleased to provide you with notice that we are planning to launch Auto-Switching Diversity on 16 September 2024.
Product Overview
Auto-Switching Diversity is an optional add-on feature that provides simple geographically diverse path redundancy for a Layer 1 lit fibre service between the service end points. It uses Optical Channel (“OCH”) protection, which provides redundancy of an individual optical channel. Each optical channel, carrying specific wavelengths of light, provides the transparent lit fibre service.
Auto-Switching Diversity is available on 100Gbps variants of the Chorus Relay Connect (CRC), Chorus Exchange Connect (CXC), and Chorus Data Centre Connect (CDCC) products, subject to feasibility.
Further information on Auto-Switching Diversity is available in each of the relevant product Service Descriptions:
- Chorus Relay Connect (CRC) Service Description
- Chorus Exchange Connect (CXC) Service Description
- Chorus Data Centre Connect (CDCC) Service Description
Note: these draft Service Descriptions are subject to Product Forum approval.
