We identified an opportunity to make fibre more accessible to customers who previously considered fibre too expensive. We launched the Home Fibre Starter 50 (HFS) product 1 April 2022, and a supporting incentive which is set to end 31 December 2022. We would like to extend this incentive to 30 June 2023 and are also looking for your feedback on some possible changes.  

The proposed offer and possible changes 

• Offer period: 1 January – 30 June 2023 
• Credits increased from the current $75 to $100 per eligible connection 
• New connections would be eligible for credits  
  • Currently, “new connections” are defined as an address which has not had fibre connected for at least 30 days. We’re looking at amending this so that it could be any new connection to you. This would mean transfers from other RSPs could be included, but plan changes for your existing fibre customers would remain ineligible for the incentive payment. 
• The retail price cap still applies to HFS, but we would look to lower the retail price cap applicable to receive the incentive credits. We’re proposing to amend this from the current $60 to $55 (including GST). We’d like to test whether a reduced retail price cap increases uptake by helping to make fibre more accessible to price sensitive customers.
